Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jayla Paulsen and Isabelle Reichman Lead South Platte to Victory

South Platte entered their tilt with Sutherland on Wednesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 38-27 win over the Sutherland Sailors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 43-22 back in December of 2024.

South Platte was led to victory by Isabelle Reichman and Jayla Paulsen. Reichman went 5-for-9 on her way to 18 points, while Paulsen posted nine points and six boards. Paulsen has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

South Platte smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

South Platte's record now sits at 18-6. As for Sutherland, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Coming up, South Platte and Brady will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest, having both just played. South Platte is on a six-game streak of home wins, Brady a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Sutherland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
