Baseball Game Preview: Fort Myers Green Wave vs. Braden River Pirates

For the second straight game, Fort Myers will face off against Braden River. The Green Wave will venture away from home to square off against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Myers will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Fort Myers is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Braden River, sneaking past 2-1. That's two games straight that the Green Wave have won by just one run.

For Braden River's part, Denzel Diaz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Diaz has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Braden River saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Sands, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Fort Myers' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-10. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Braden River, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-11.
