Baseball Recap: St. Charles North Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy last Saturday, St. Charles North came back down to earth. The North Stars fell just short of the Central Rockets by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the North Stars of the 8-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

St. Charles North got a good showing from Ben Auer, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, St. Charles North saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keaton Reinke, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Reinke has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

St. Charles North's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Central, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Charles North will head out to challenge Sycamore at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central, they will venture away from home to square off against Cary-Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rockets are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
