Baseball Recap: Fort Vancouver Takes a Loss

Fort Vancouver lost against Heritage back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Trappers fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 9-8. The Trappers just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Billy Freeman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Fort Vancouver is 2-1 when Freeman posts three or more hits, but 3-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Shayne Quarles, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Fort Vancouver's record now sits at 5-9. As for Heritage, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Vancouver will face off against King's Way Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Trappers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Heritage, they will challenge Castle Rock at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
