Volleyball Game Preview: Mount Si Wildcats vs. Curtis Vikings

Mount Si hasn't had much luck against Curtis recently, but that could start to change on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 11:45 a.m.

Mount Si is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since October 9th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Lake Stevens. Considering the last time the Wildcats couldn't score was back in October, the team can't take the result too hard.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-13, 25-10.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Curtis walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Lancers 3-2. The Vikings are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.

Curtis wouldn't go down easily and took Kennedy Catholic into a fifth set where they got it done with a 11-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 20-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-4.

Mount Si better keep an eye on Elaina Duong. She was instrumental in Curtis' win, getting 28 digs and ten assists. That's the most digs Duong has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Kinley, who had 11 digs and one assist.

Curtis' win bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Mount Si, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
