Volleyball Recap: Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Falls to Casey-Westfield in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Casey-Westfield Warriors. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-23.

Allison Shields paced Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's offense, picking up five kills. Shields got some help from Gracie Wright and her 13 assists. Timber Watson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

The victory got Casey-Westfield back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City will host Dieterich at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Bobcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Casey-Westfield, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Arcola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
