Trinity Christian Academy waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Waverly Central Tigers 4-2. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly two runs.

Trinity Christian Academy got a great performance from Levi Baker as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Baker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Trinity Christian Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Greg Carter, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Zane Atwood also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Trinity Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-15-1. As for Waverly Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity Christian Academy will welcome Obion County at 6:20 p.m. on Friday. As for Waverly Central, they will be playing at home against McEwen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
