Softball Recap: Bear Lake Drops Highest Score of Season Against Snake River

Bear Lake's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Snake River Panthers. The Bears' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Morgan Armstrong was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Humpherys, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one double.

Bear Lake has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Snake River, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Coming up, Bear Lake will face off against Marsh Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.08 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Snake River, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-7 victory against South Fremont on the 12th.
