Basketball Game Preview: Hillcrest Rams vs. Greenwood Eagles

The Hillcrest Rams will host the Greenwood Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Hillcrest came up short against Woodmont and fell 48-37. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Greenwood hadn't done well against Greenville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Greenwood took down Greenville 53-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Greenwood's win came from a few key players Hillcrest will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tykirea Johnson, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 14 points along with seven boards and three blocks. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Oliver, who went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points and four steals.

Greenwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Greenwood pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hillcrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
