Metro-East Lutheran gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the East Alton-Wood River Oilers. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Oilers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Alison Waller was the driving force of Metro-East Lutheran's attack as she scored both of Metro-East Lutheran's goals.

Metro-East Lutheran didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-0 defeat against Gibault Catholic on the 18th. As for East Alton-Wood River, they will challenge Greenville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
