Volleyball Recap: Northmont Comes Up Short

Northmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Fairmont Firebirds, falling 3-0. If the Thunderbolts were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Firebirds when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 25-9.

Fairmont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sandler Miranda, who had 19 assists and five digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Castle, who had nine digs and two assists.

Northmont's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Fairmont, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northmont will take on Hamilton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. After both having extra time off, Fairmont and Chaminade Julienne Catholic will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
