The biggest upset of the week belonged to Heritage, who took down 222nd ranked Heritage, 18-7.
Bay City Western moved up to 94 from 121 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Saginaw Valley - North. The Warriors were able to make the jump by beating Mt. Pleasant 34-26.
Bay City Western's dynamic duo of Joe Ivan and Charles Proctor proved tough for the Oilers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Ivan threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns and Proctor had 73 yards receiving. Mason Myers helped Bay City Western's passing attack out by catching two balls for 60 yards.
Michael Tweh was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 191 yards as Mt. Pleasant topped Mt. Pleasant. Cory Williams also contributed to the rushing game with 124 yards on the ground.
6-foot-0 quarterback Ivan of Bay City Western is the league leader in passing yards this season with 599. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, the Oilers' Tweh has rushed for 1175 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Antonio Povinelli. The Mt. Pleasant star has 20 catches for 314 yards.
The top two teams in Saginaw Valley - North will face off this week when first place Midland takes on second place Bay City Western. Midland topped Saginaw last week, while the Warriors beat Mt. Pleasant.
Bay City Western's Myers needs only 77 yards against the Chemics next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Myers has rushed for 923 yards on 148 carries so far this year.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Warriors take on Midland. Bay City Western's offense has scored 268 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Chemics have allowed only 109 on the year.
