The Crawford County Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Howard Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Last Wednesday, Crawford County got the win against Rutland by a conclusive 11-4.

Meanwhile, Howard came into Thursday's game having lost 13 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against Rutland on Thursday as Howard made off with a 15-4 victory. The Huskies 's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Annabella Nash made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-5. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Abby Hardy was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Those runs marked the first that she's scored this season. Jayla Evans was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Howard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. The last time their OBP was this high was back in August of 2023.

Crawford County's record now sits at 2-4. As for Howard, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6.
