Basketball Game Preview: Oak Mountain Eagles vs. Calera Eagles

The Oak Mountain Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Calera Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Mountain has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 21.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-21, which was the final score in Oak Mountain's tilt against Vestavia Hills on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 37 points.

Meanwhile, Calera lost to Benjamin Russell at home by a 65-49 margin on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Calera's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Oak Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 6-21.

Oak Mountain came up short against Calera in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 55-51. Can Oak Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
