Baseball Recap: Scotch Plains-Fanwood Comes Up Short at Home Against Monmouth Regional

Scotch Plains-Fanwood unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Monmouth Regional Falcons on Saturday, falling 11-4.

Aiden Luccarelli made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Leo Nardi, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scotch Plains-Fanwood will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Johnson at 4:00 p.m. on April 1. As for Monmouth Regional, they will take on Manalapan at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
