Basketball Recap: Kaufman Extends Winning Streak to Four

Kaufman waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 43-36 victory over the Lindale Eagles. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Eagles are ranked 384th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kaufman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubre Prox, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards. Prox's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Kaylee Wrenn was another key player, putting up 14 points and four steals.

Kaufman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Kaufman's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Lindale, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Kaufman will venture away from home to face off against Crandall at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lindale, they will welcome Brownsboro at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Lindale's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Brownsboro has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
