Baseball Recap: Damonte Ranch Takes a Loss

Damonte Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 9-6 to Ponderosa.

Damonte Ranch got a good showing from Kolten Matter, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Matter has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, RJ Moffett was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That run was his first of the season.

Damonte Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Ponderosa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Damonte Ranch didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-2 defeat against Willow Canyon on the 19th. As for Ponderosa, they have also already played their next contest, an 8-3 loss against O'Connor on the 19th.
