Football Recap: East Valley Piles Up the Points Against Toppenish

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Valley). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Toppenish Wildcats 56-6. The win was just business as usual for the Red Devils, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braden Albrecht, who rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Albrecht's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Jaxon Berg, who threw for 264 yards and five TDs while completing 81.2% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: East Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to East Valley's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Abraham Gutierrez, Logan Jones, and Zeliah Wade, who each picked up one sack apiece.

East Valley's record now sits at 6-0. As for Toppenish, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

East Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 42-13 victory against Selah on the 17th. As for Toppenish, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-0 defeat against Ephrata on the 17th.
