Sequoia proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Burlingame Panthers, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Ravens have posted since November 2, 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (92-88) Sequoia actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 12-25, 11-25, 25-20, 15-9.

Joslin Fiel was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 26 digs and three aces. What's more, she posted five assists, the most she's had over her last seven matchups. Katalina Tuipulotu also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Sequoia was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why Burlingame lost, don't look at Sam Hollrah. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs. Hollrah is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

Sequoia has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Burlingame, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Sequoia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Castro Valley on the 13th. As for Burlingame, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Carlmont on the 16th.
