Basketball Game Preview: Mountain House Mustangs vs. Central Catholic Raiders

The Mountain House Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Central Catholic Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mountain House knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Central Catholic likes a good challenge.

On Wednesday, Mountain House took their matchup with ease, bagging an 83-47 win over Patterson. With the Mustangs ahead 44-21 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Mountain House can attribute much of their success to Coldin Parker, who posted 20 points and six boards, and Shamar Jones, who had 24 points. The contest was Jones' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Greatness Aiku, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, Central Catholic waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 60-49 victory over the Lancers.

Central Catholic's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Mountain House, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Mountain House came up short against Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in January, falling 65-60. Can Mountain House avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
