Softball Recap: Poway Makes It 11 in a Row at Home

Poway never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Rancho Bernardo Broncos. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won seven in a row.

Rancho Bernardo's batters probably weren't too happy with Mya McGowan, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (she gave up zero walks). McGowan has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ashleigh Ronsse, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Sophia Grimm was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Poway pushed their record up to 21-6 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Rancho Bernardo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13-1 record this season.
