Basketball Game Preview: Newcastle Bobcats vs. Throckmorton Greyhounds

The Newcastle Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Throckmorton Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Last Friday, Newcastle ended up a good deal behind Woodson and lost 47-29.

Meanwhile, Throckmorton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were dealt a 57-25 defeat at the hands of Bryson. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1663rd, while the Cowboys are ranked 734th).

Newcastle's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Throckmorton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Everything came up roses for Newcastle against Throckmorton when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured an 80-29 victory. Will Newcastle repeat their success, or does Throckmorton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
