Basketball Recap: Monacan Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Monacan won the last time they faced Midlothian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Monacan Chiefs enjoyed a cozy 58-43 win over the Midlothian Trojans. Given the Chiefs' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Trojans are ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Monacan has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Midlothian, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

Monacan will host Richmond City School of the Arts at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Midlothian, they will head out on the road to square off against Cosby at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
