Baseball Recap: Ravenswood Red Devils vs. Roane County Raiders

After flying high against Wirt County last Tuesday, Ravenswood came back down to earth. The Ravenswood Red Devils fell just short of the Roane County Raiders by a score of 7-6 on Friday. Ravenswood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Roane County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.

Beau Bennett was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Alfred, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Ravenswood's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Roane County, their win bumped their record up to an identical 9-7.

Ravenswood will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Tyler at 6:00 p.m. Tyler's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Ravenswood's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Roane County, they will head out on the road to square off against South Harrison at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Harrison is coming into the game with six straight victories at home, so Roane County will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
