Volleyball Recap: Jones Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Jones came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the McMullen County Cowboys 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jones never let McMullen County on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-14, 25-20.

Harper Green paced Jones' offense, picking up 16 kills. Green got some help from Khloe Avalos and her 28 assists. Julianna Delarosa and Gabriella Pesina kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Jones' victory bumped their record up to 31-4. As for McMullen County, their loss dropped their record down to 22-13.

Jones and McMullen County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Trojans will square off against Rockport-Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (202 vs. 423). Meanwhile, McMullen County (ranked 428th) will meet Pawnee (ranked 1425th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
