Softball Recap: Jones Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

Jones had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chicago Academy Cougars a 17-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-1 on Friday.

Nobody will forget Anna Black's heroic performance anytime soon (especially Chicago Academy's batters): she turned in a perfect game.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lucy Paskiewicz, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julissa Galvez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Jones always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chicago Academy only posted an OBP of .000.

Jones pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Chicago Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
