Volleyball Recap: Clear Falls Takes a Loss

Clear Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Deer Park Deer, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Deer this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Deer Park scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19, 25-21.

Shirley Pingel paced Clear Falls' offense, picking up nine kills. Pingel got some help from Delaney Duckett and her 15 assists. Blake Dalecky controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Deer Park can attribute much of their success to Erin Goodson, who had 17 digs and two aces.

Clear Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 15-21. As for Deer Park, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 18-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Clear Falls is set to face off against their familiar foe Brazoswood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Deer Park will challenge rival Clear Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
