Softball Recap: Cedar Valley Takes Down Skyline in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Cedar Valley rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Skyline Eagles 15-5. Considering the Aviators have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Brenley Keele tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Takuilau Wolfgramm, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jeslyn Collins, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Cedar Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Cedar Valley's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Skyline, they dropped their record down to 11-18 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Cedar Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
