South Hills waltzed into their match on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came out on top against the Colony Titans by a score of 5-1. Five seems to be a good number for the Huskies as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Nicolas Munoz looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, South Hills saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Vieth, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Zack Escalera was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

South Hills pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Colony, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Hills will host Alta Loma at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Colony, they will take on San Dimas at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Saints' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
