Softball Recap: Fruitvale Wins Going Away Against Martins Mill

Fruitvale won the last time they faced Martins Mill and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bobcats blew past the Mustangs 10-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Kyla Bain spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Annie Lacy was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Shelby Dry was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Fruitvale's victory bumped their record up to 9-17. As for Martins Mill, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Fruitvale and Martins Mill will both be playing Big Sandy the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will host the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bobcats will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
