Baseball Recap: Har-Ber Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Har-Ber had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Southside Mavericks 13-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-2 on Monday.

BLAINE VAN HILSEN was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. VAN HILSEN was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, JAXON PICKARD and LUKE CORNELISON did most of the damage at the plate: PICKARD got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while CORNELISON got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs PICKARD has posted since back in March. AIDEN EVANS also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Har-Ber's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Southside, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Har-Ber will square off against Ozark at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southside, they will face off against Fayetteville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
