Basketball Recap: Garland Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Garland Christian Academy lost against Prestonwood Christian North back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Garland Christian Academy Swordsmen were beaten by Prestonwood Christian North 60-30. The Swordsmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Garland Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andee Sandlin, who posted four points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Sandlin has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Wood, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 17 points and five boards.

Garland Christian Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Prestonwood Christian North, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Garland Christian Academy has already played their next contest, a 38-32 loss against Trinity Christian on the 20th. As for Prestonwood Christian North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-35 defeat against First Baptist on the 21st.
