Basketball Recap: Godwin Takes a Loss

Godwin came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 69-36 defeat at the hands of the Highland Springs Springers. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-17.

Kensey Foster and Barret Himmel certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Foster posted 19 points and four steals, while Himmel had six points.

Among those leading the charge was Brianna Shelton, who scored 15 points. Jesiah Young was another key player, putting up ten points.

Godwin dropped their record down to 12-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Highland Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Godwin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-19 win against Hermitage on the 18th. Highland Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
