Softball Recap: North Marion Huskies vs. Lewis County Minutemen
If North Marion was feeling good fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Preston on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Huskies lost 16-7 to the Lewis County Minutemen on Thursday. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Minutemen recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Brooke Toothman was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Carleigh Tuttle, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
North Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Lewis County, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Marion will challenge Philip Barbour at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Colts have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Lewis County, they will square off against Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
