Basketball Recap: Highland Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fennimore last Thursday, Highland came back down to earth. The match between the Highland Cardinals and the River Ridge Timberwolves didn't end well, with the Highland Cardinals falling 75-60. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Timberwolves earlier this season, when they won 85-72.

Highland's loss dropped their record down to 18-3. As for River Ridge, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

Highland and River Ridge should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. Highland (ranked 89th) will meet Barneveld (ranked 203rd) at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Highland is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. Similarly, River Ridge will face off against Albany at 7:15 p.m. on Friday up 261 places (107 vs. 368).
