Recap: Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack vs. West Holt Huskies
The Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They snuck past West Holt with a 49-44 victory. Given Elgin/Pope John's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while West Holt is ranked 140th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Elgin/Pope John to victory were Keyera Eisenhauer and Ashlynne Charf. Eisenhauer scored 18 points, while Charf scored 20 points.
Elgin/Pope John's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for West Holt, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elgin/Pope John will square off against Central Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Holt, they will head out on the road to square off against Neligh-Oakdale on Tuesday.
