Football Recap: Amador's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday + How To Watch

Amador and Ripon Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Amador had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 28-26. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Buffaloes have suffered since August 30, 2024.

Despite the loss, Amador still got an impressive performance from John McPartland, who threw for 95 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes, and also rushed for 45 yards.

Ripon Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Tameling out in front who rushed for 38 yards and one TD, and also threw for 100 yards while completing 77.8% of his passes. Tameling's passing game has become a key predictor of the Knights' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Lushen Sanders was in the mix as well, providing Ripon Christian with two scores.

Amador moved to 6-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Ripon Christian, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
