Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Madison's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Madison had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over the Eagle Mustangs. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in November of 2024, they had to take a 50-45 loss.

Eagle's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Porter Wood, who posted ten points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Bella Thompson, who had ten points.

Madison has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.1 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Eagle and nudges their season record down to 19-6.

Madison has already played their next game, a 39-35 loss against Boise on the 21st. As for Eagle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-53 defeat against Rigby on the 21st.
