Softball Recap: Sterling Finds Home Field Redemption Against Oregon

There's no place like home for Sterling, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the Oregon Hawks by a score of 8-4 on Saturday.

Lily Martinez made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Martinez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lily Cantu was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Georgia Gallardo, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Sterling's record now sits at 5-2. As for Oregon, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Sterling will head out on the road to take on Quincy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oregon, they will welcome Milledgeville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
