Softball Recap: Okaw Valley's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blue Ridge, Okaw Valley was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Cumberland Pirates 9-1. This was payback for the Timberwolves, who suffered a 17-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Okaw Valley's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9. As for Cumberland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Okaw Valley will challenge Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Timberwolves are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Cumberland, they will take on Cerro Gordo/Bement at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Broncos will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
