Basketball Game Preview: Woodside Wildcats vs. Carlmont Scots

Woodside hasn't had much luck against Carlmont recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Woodside Wildcats will face off against the Carlmont Scots at 6:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Woodside lost to Summit Shasta at home by a 58-39 margin. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carlmont). They strolled past Mountain View with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 73-54.

Carlmont is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Woodside, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Woodside suffered a grim 63-42 defeat to Carlmont when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Woodside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
