Softball Recap: Weaver Beavers vs. New London Whalers
Weaver was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They fell 15-12 to the New London Whalers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Whalers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-2 on Friday.
Jadelyn Santana led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and two doubles. Those doubles were her first of the season. Krizailys Laboy was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.
Weaver's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for New London, their record now sits at 4-11.
Looking ahead, Weaver will head out on the road to challenge Academy of Science and Innovation at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Beavers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ravens have averaged an impressive 14.4 runs per game this season. New London does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
