Baseball Recap: Nease Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Nease came into Wednesday's matchup having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Bishop Kenny Crusaders on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since February 27th.

Warren Huang looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alex Davis was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Fletcher Reston, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Nease's record now sits at 9-16. As for Bishop Kenny, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's still a better percentage than their 5-18 record this season.

Nease does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Kenny, they will welcome Creekside at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Crusaders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
