Basketball Recap: Red River Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Red River won the last time they faced Fargo South and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Red River Roughriders walked away with a 58-51 victory over the Fargo South Bruins. Given the Roughriders' advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Bruins are ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Red River is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.4 points per game. As for Fargo South, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Red River will head out to take on Fargo North at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fargo North knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Red River likes a good challenge. Fargo South has already played their next contest (against Shanley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
