Football Recap: Crestwood Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Crestwood had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Wyoming Area Warriors by a score of 24-21. The loss continues a trend for the Comets in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Although Crestwood took the loss, they still got scores from Jaden Shedlock, Jack Rodgers, and Jake Jeckell.

Wyoming Area got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Gravine out in front who rushed for 128 yards and one score on only nine carries, and also threw for 102 yards and one touchdown. Gravine also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles (0.5 for loss) and defending one pass. Trustin Johnson also helped out as he racked up 133 rushing yards.

Coming up, Crestwood will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wyoming Area, they will head out on the road to take on Dallas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
