Softball Recap: Central Dauphin East Sets Scoring Season-High Against Harrisburg

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central Dauphin East). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Harrisburg Cougars a 22-0 shutout on Monday. The Panthers have beaten the Cougars the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cougars has come to flipping the script.

Tenley Zeppuhar made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Zeppuhar was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Rayonna Winslow was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madison Morrett, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Central Dauphin East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .771. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Central Dauphin East's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-16. As for Harrisburg, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coincidentally, Central Dauphin East and Harrisburg will both be playing Susquehanna Township the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the HANNA at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cougars will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
