The Anderson Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the College Station Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Anderson humbled Elgin with a 62-20 victory. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Wildcats are ranked 672nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Max Gerlich and his top target Jay Fullmer. Gerlich threw for 293 yards and four touchdowns while Fullmer rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Ed Small also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Meanwhile, College Station took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-21 win over Magnolia. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Corcoran threw for 191 yards and four touchdowns while Cosser picked up 122 receiving yards and three touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards Corcoran has posted since back in October of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Wilson Stapp, who rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown.

Anderson's record now sits at 2-0. As for College Station, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
