Volleyball Recap: Spearfish Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Hill City on Tuesday, Spearfish came back down to earth. The Spartans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Douglas Patriots on Friday. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Spearfish's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-3. As for Douglas, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Spearfish wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Douglas on the 5th. As for the Patriots, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Hill City on the 9th.
