Basketball Game Preview: Port Clinton Redskins vs. Vermilion Sailors

The Port Clinton Redskins will challenge the Vermilion Sailors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Port Clinton has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 3.

Last Monday, Port Clinton came up short against Bowsher and fell 49-36.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Vermilion's strategy against Wellington on Thursday. Everything went Vermilion's way against Wellington as Vermilion made off with a 60-38 victory. That 22 point margin sets a new team best for the Sailors this season.

Vermilion found their leader in sophomore Mason Cooper, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Brock Meyers was another key player, going 7 for 12 en route to 17 points and six rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Vermilion and bumps their season record up to 6-11. As for Port Clinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Port Clinton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Vermilion in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 46-42 victory.
