It was a good run, but Grand Island Lutheran unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to the Central Valley Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lightning of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-12.

Grand Island Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Central Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Grand Island Lutheran and Central Valley will both be playing Archangels Catholic the next time they take the court. The Lightning will head out to face the Defenders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
